Advertisement No.-01/23, Post-stenographer / Director (Stenography) practical examination is scheduled on 24 September 2023 at examination centers in Patna. Candidates’ admit cards have been uploaded on the Commission’s website. Candidates can download their admit cards using their Registration number and Date of Birth. Important instructions for candidates participating in the practical examination:

1. For the Stenography examination in Hindi Shorthand, candidates must transcribe 320 (three hundred and twenty) words in 4 (four) minutes (1-minute extra time for initial dictation) from the provided notebook written in shorthand using 30 (thirty) words per minute shorthand speed. After the dictated Hindi shorthand, an additional 2 minutes will be given for correction purposes. Candidates will have 20 (twenty) minutes for typing the transcribed passage.
2. The transcription test (in English and Hindi) will be conducted on a computer.
3. In the Hindi transcription test, candidates must use the Mangal font in the Remington Gail Keyboard Layout.
4. Candidates appearing for the Hindi transcription test are required to transcribe 300 (three hundred) words in 10 (ten) minutes at a speed of 30 (thirty) words per minute.
5. In the English transcription test, “UTF-8” under the English (US) Keyboard Layout will be used.
6. In the English transcription test, candidates are required to transcribe 350 (three hundred and fifty) words in 10 (ten) minutes at a speed of 35 (thirty-five) words per minute.
7. During typing, candidates should select the appropriate keyboard layout at the beginning. Changing the keyboard layout during typing may result in the loss of typed content.
8. Special instructions will be provided for benchmarking candidates with visual impairments (vision impaired).
9. Candidates must ensure that they follow the on-screen instructions at regular intervals during the examination.
